STEPS TO MAKE THE DIY DOLLAR TREE BUNNY WREATH
STEP 1: START WRAPPING THE WIRE WREATH
Follow the 5 steps below to begin wrapping the wreath and continue like so for the rest of the way around.
Continue wrapping the yarn on the wreath as the instructions show
STEP 2: FINISH WRAPPING THE YARN AND GLUE IN PLACE
The last 3 wraps are shown in illustrations below for how to complete and end the wrapping.
1. With the wreath facing you, pull down, under, and to the back of the wreath, and then up.
2. Pull down on top of the wreath and squeeze the yarn into place.
3. Flip the wreath backwards, bunny ears facing you, pull yarn down, hot glue about 3/4 of the way, and then cut the yarn
STEP 3: PREPARE THE BUNNY EARS
Place the bunny ears on top of a piece of burlap fabric and trace around the ears with a marker.
Cut the outline out making sure to leave at least an extra 1/4 from the tracing marks.
STEP 4: ATTACH THE BURLAP ON THE BUNNY EARS
Shown below is how the front and back sides look.
Place the bunny ears on top of the burlap that you cut out.
Begin running a line of hot glue and attaching the ears to the wire. It works best if you do it in sections so you can be sure to keep the burlap taut along the way.
STEP 5: ATTACH POM POMS TO THE BUNNY EARS
Hot glue pom poms onto the wire while making sure that the bulap/wire can’t be noticed from the sides.
HOW TO MAKE THE BURLAP FLOWER FOR THE BUNNY WREATH
Measure and cut a piece of burlap 4.5 x 14 inches approximately (yikes, forgot to right it down.) If you want your flower to be larger, just extend the length.
1. Begin pulling individual threads out. Leave about a 1/4 to 1/2 inch intact on each side.
2. Bring both long sides evenly together and join with hot glue. I glued about 3 inches at a time.
3. Begin rolling the burlap strip onto itself, hot glueing along the way. The step 2 photo shows the starting point of rolling and step 3 photo shows how the completed roll should look.
4. Stick the glued portion in between two yarn wraps and hot glue in place.
STEP 6: COMPLETE THE BURLAP FLOWER
Fluff the flower open. You may need to glue some of the burlap strings in the back down to the yarn to make the flower more fluffed out.
Glue a small pom pom to the center of the flower.
STEP 7: PREPARE FOR HANGING
Run a piece of florist wire through the yarn on the back side and twist to form a loop. Attach a 3M command wall hook to where you plan to hang your bunny wreath.
Place the wire loop on your hook, stand back, and admire your Dollar Tree bunny wire wreath!
